IF YOU LOVE

 

One new commandment

That’s all Jesus gave

To love each other

That’s how to behave

 

They claim to be Christian

But only loved their own

For the rest of God’s children

No love they’ve shown

 

They’ll say may God bless you

When there’s such a need

But to lend a helping hand

They won’t intercede

 

For it was Jesus they refused

To lend Him a hand

God’s love was not there

As they ignored His command

 

³⁴ A new commandment I give to you, that you

love one another; as I have loved you,

that you also love one another.

¹⁷ But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees

his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him,

how does the love of God abide in him?

They turned from God

For the things they lust for

They’ve turned to the government

Free stuff they can score

 

So they don’t want to work

For what they need

They scream they’re entitled

With their self-centered greed

 

The things of this life

Are what they lust for

But they don’t want to work

It’s to much of a chore

 

So they take from others

And for that they will pay

When they stand before Him

On Judgment-day

 

For all of God’s children

They have always known

That’s why they work

To take care of their own

 

⁸ nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge,

but worked with labor and toil night and day, that

we might not be a burden to any of you,

2 THESSALONIANS 3:8

 

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we commanded you this:

If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that

there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner,

not working at all, but are busybodies. ¹² Now those who are

such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ

that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

Another day of crying

It seems so unreal

I just don’t know if

My broken heart can heal

 

I miss him everyday

He’s always in my thoughts

But knowing I can’t touch him

Comes feeling of distraught

 

It’s Jesus we need to cling to

To get us through the day

Only He can give us peace

His Spirit intercedes for us

Through the crying moans and groans

He knows what we can’t express

All to Him is known

 

Jesus said He’s coming back

Then all the broken hearts will be
