HOLIDAYS

 

The holidays we loved

And use to celebrate

These are the same holidays

I now hate

 

They only remind me

That you’re no longer here

For me it’s just

Another day of the year

 

My heart’s so broken

Yet I hide it so well

For the kids I’ll do it

So they can’t tell

 

I hold it together

I do it for their sake

For I know they feel

The same heart ache

PARTIALITY

 

They claim to be Christian

Yet they talk and talk

They can’t keep their mouth shut

And they can’t do the walk

 

You see them gathered

To criticize others

Forgetting that they are

Sisters and brothers

 

Not meeting their standards

Especially their dress

They come to church like that

Look they’re a mess

 

Showing their partiality

With Christ they have no part

For the love of Christ Jesus

Never entered their heart

 

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter,

for your heart is not right in the sight of God.

are convicted by the law as transgressors.

Everyday

I wait for thee

You said you’d come

Jesus come for me

 

Everyday

Is the same routine

I only see the past

Nothing new seen

 

Everyday

I go through the motions

For every day’s a battle

Controlling my emotions

 

But everyday

Is another day with thee

What gets me through each day

Jesus never left me

 

²⁴ This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

What gets me through each day

Is watching for our King

He holds my hopes and dreams

Of the coming things

 

You see it everywhere

Flesh is what they lust

Like Sodom and Gomorrah

God’s judgment is a must

 

Time is running out

This sinful world will pay

Their hatred towards God and His

They’ll face the Lord’s Day

 

You can call it climate change

It’s a taste of what’s to come

But know God’s in control

The sorrows have begun

 

Then will come God’s wrath

And that can’t be reversed

For blaspheming God’s Holy name

They haven’t seen the worst

 

God made His all a promise

His wrath we will not face

For when that time comes

He’ll take us to His place

 

⁶ Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand!
It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

⁸ All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Now that I’m alone

There’re things that I must do

Things I would have never done

I go to God and you-tube

Before what I must do

Yes my love I remembered

I prayed to God before

I climbed up in that tree

Keep me safe from getting hurt

Yes He heard my plea

 

Then there are those times

I need a helping hand

God sends just who I need

So what is done will stand

 

The pain that I am in

I don’t let others know

When someone helps me out

God’s loving hand He show

 

Some can’t really see

God’s work behind the scenes

I’m grateful He opened my eyes

I can see He intervenes

That wasn’t the worst

 

You would look forward

To drinking your wine

That was your weekends

Time after time

 

Then you’d hook up

With sex on your mind

No love or care

For the one left behind

 

But then one day

You heard Jesus call

He said all your sins

I’ll take one and all

 

You’re a new creation

Your past now erased

It’s like being born again

By God’s saving grace
