I  WAS  HUNGRY

 

It  sounds  like  greed

The  church  must  be  first

What  about  the  hungry

And  those  who  thirst

 

They  don’t  have  food

Give  tithe  to  the  church

You  give  extra  to  bless

Those  stuck  in  a  lurch

 

When  you  stand  before  Jesus

What  will  He  say

Didn’t  you  hear  Me

I  was  hungry  that  day

 

If  given  a  choice

What  would  Jesus  do

Would  He  give  to  a  temple

Or  would  He  feed  you

 

³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord,

when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and

give You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger and

take You in, or naked and clothe You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You

sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ ⁴⁰ And the King will answer

and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it

to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

You  think  your  raising

Responsible  teens

When  you  get  down  to  it

Did  you  give  them  the  means

 

Do  they  know  the  truth

That  there’s  a  higher  power

And  there’s  also  one

Who  lives  to  devour

 

You  know  without  God

No  one  to  answer  to

For  what  was  once  evil

The  law  says  they  can  do

 

They  need  to  know

When  it’s  all  said  and  done

As  they  stand  before  Jesus

He’ll  judge  them  each  one

 

For we must all appear before the

judgment seat of Christ, that each

one may receive the things done in

the body, according to what he

has done, whether good or bad.

Turn  on  the  TV

It’s  sex  they’re  selling

You  can  be  like  us

The  message  they’re  telling

 

It’s  all  about  money

They  don’t  care  about  you

It’s  what’s  in  your  pockets

That’s  what  they  pursue

 

It  should  make  you  mad

How  their  message  is  spread

You  now  know  the  truth

With  sex  they  misled

 

We  won’t  buy  your  products

Until  you  clean  up  your  act

You  won’t  get  our  money

Know  that  a  fact

 

We  may  be  young

But  our  numbers  are  strong

We  now  know  the  truth

How  your  selling  is  wrong

 

[ Jesus Warns of Offenses ] “But whoever causes one of

these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better

for him if a millstone were hung around his neck,

and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

He  says  he  loves  you

But  what  will  it  take

To  prove  you  love  him

Don’t  make  that  mistake

 

He  wants  it  right  now

Just  like  fishing

He’ll  lure  you  right  in

And  once  he’s  caught  you

He’ll  tell  of  his  win

 

You  know  who  to  seek

He  lives  high  above

For  God  must  be  first

So  before  you  get  caught

With  God  take  a  stand

Tell  him  your  waiting

For  a  gold  wedding  band

 

Marriage is honorable among all, and

the bed undefiled;  but fornicators

and adulterers God will judge.

All  their  rules  to  follow

The  ones  man  has  made

To  you  dear  Father

They’ve  become  a  blockade

 

I  can  buy  books  and  tapes

All  their  study  tools

You  know  over  the  years

Yes  they’ve  changed  Your  rules

 

You  know  they  make  me  feel

Like  I’ll  never  be  good  enough

To  follow  all  their  rules

They’re  making  this  life  tough

 

Now  I’ll  thank  you  Father

You  only  gave  us  ten

There’s  one  for  each  finger

Father  you  made  it  so  easy

Can  you  hear  my  cry

Sometimes  you  feel  so  distant

When  I  look  up  to  the  sky

 

I  need  to  feel  your  presence

So  I  know  I’m  not  alone

To  know  that  You  are  with  me

The  picture  fades  to  black

The  adults  all  knew

But  as  for  the  children

They  couldn’t  see  through

 

But  thanks  to  Hollywood

Now  the  children  can  see

They  believe  if  they  can

When  it  comes  to  values

What’s  the  lesson  they  learned

Have  you  seen  these  movies

We  should  be  concerned

 

They  push  violence  and  sex

For  money  and  fame

On  the  road  to  success

Your  children  they’ll  claim

 

They  say  it’s  free  speech

And  they  call  it  art

As  for  good  and  evil

They  can’t  tell  them  apart

 

For where envy and self-seeking exist,

confusion and every evil thing are there.
