THERE’S A STRANGER
In this
day and age
Their cry
sounds like a roar
There is
a stranger knocking
Would you
open up the
door
Will you
call the police
Or silently
hide
They say
I know you
Let me
inside
You take
a peek
The face
you don’t know
I do
not know you
So now
you must go
So don’t
be surprised
As you
stand at the
gate
You’re the
stranger knocking
You sealed
your own fate
For heaven
is God’s home
And one
day our place
But only
if Jesus
Recognizes your face
“When once the Master of the house has risen up
and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside
and knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open
for us,’ and He will answer and say to you,
‘I do not know you, where you are from.’
