PART 2 FOR ISRAEL OR THE CHURCH

MATTHEW 24

WARNING  FOR  ISRAEL  OR  THE  CHURCH

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

The people’s hearts grow cold towards God and His word, choosing to live their sinful self centered lives by rejecting Jesus as the true Messiah. We can see that our government has turned against Jesus along with the media and entertainment industry and many churches, and even God’s chosen people. Israel has gone the way of the world. Jesus tells the parable of the Fig Tree in Matthew 24:32-33 as an example and warning, that when they (Israel) sees these things happening, know that Jesus is the promised Messiah, and His return is near, that He is standing at the door.

All we like sheep have gone astray: We have turned, every one,
to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

ISHIAH 53:6

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this
adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man
also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory
of His Father with the holy angels.”

Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you
be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!

JAMES 5:9

13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this
gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a
witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Only those who endure to the end will be saved.  Because of
Israel’s rejection of Jesus, they must endure the tribulation and
only a remnant will be saved.  We as Christians today are
already saved by God’s grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.
(the church will not face the tribulation)

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name
of the Lord Shall be savedFor in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there shall be deliveranceAs the Lord has said,
Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number
of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.

ROMANS 9:27

Israel, Jews and unbeliever must endure the tribulation, they are
tested by God and only having knowledge of God’s word, will
a remnant be saved for Israel’s sake.

10 For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver
is refined11 You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on
our backs. 12 You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water; But
You brought us out to rich fulfillment.

PSALM 66:10-12

And it shall come to pass in all the land,” Says the Lord,
That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one–third
shall be left in itI will bring the one–third through the fire, Will
refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name, And I will answer them.
I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one
will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

ZECHARIAH 13:8-9

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be
saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

MATTHEW 24:22

But God will send His two witnesses to prophesy during the
tribulation. God gives every chance for Israel and unbelievers
to turn to their promised Messiah.

And I will give power to my two witnesses,
and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred
and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

REVELATION 11:3

The Great Tribulation
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),

Here it speaks of a holy place, the temple, the Jewish temple. Once the temple is rebuilt, the Jews will offer animal’s blood for the atonement of sin.  But when they see the anti-christ standing in the temple, many will remember that it was told to them by the prophet Daniel and will not be deceived by him. This begins the last three and one half years of the tribulation when Satan makes an attempt to imitate God.

13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’

ISAIAH 14:13-14

30 For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage  .“So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strongand carry out great exploits.

DANIEL 11:30-32

11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away,
and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be
one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

DANIEL 12:11

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God
or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God
showing himself that he is God.

2 THESSALONIANS 2:4

For the Christian church there is no need for a daily sacrifice for sin, for Jesus paid that price for us once and for all.

who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices,
first for His own sins and then for the people’s,
for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness
of sins, according to the riches of His grace

EPHESIANS 1:7

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 JOHN 1:7

We (the church) are not looking or waiting to see the anti-christ appear, we are to keep watch, looking for Jesus to appear. We will not be here, as Christians, our temple is our body, not a
building. Jesus Christ was our sacrifice, our blood atonement for sin once for all.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more
then, having now been justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

ROMANS 5:8-9

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16

And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?
For you are the temple of the living God.
As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them.
I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Here Jesus is naming a place, Judea.  From there flee to the mountains.  First of all Christians from around the world would have to go to Judea, and then flee to the mountains.  Only those in Israel (the Jews) will be able to flee Judea, not Christians, we are no longer here. The rapture has already taken place.  God has prepare a place for the His chosen (Jews) in the wilderness where they will be safe.
Then the woman fled into the wilderness,
where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her
there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

REVELATION 12:6

As Christians we don’t flee, we are to fight the good fight, and we are to wait for Jesus to appear.

20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also
eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

PHILIPPIANS 3:20

10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the
dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

1 THESSALONIANS 1:10

In 2 Timothy 4:7-8.  We are looking for His appearing, the rapture, not His return, for when He returns, we will be with Him.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge,
will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also
to all who have loved His appearing.

2 TIMOTHY 4:7 – 8

17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jesus warns not even to go to your homes. Only Israel has that ability to flee to the mountains. If Christians were still here, there would be no place for them to go.  Thank you Jesus, we are in heaven with You.

[ Prophecy of the End Time ] “At that time Michael shall
stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of
your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as
never was since there was a nationEven to that time.
And at that time your people shall be delivered
Every one who is found written in the book.

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments,
and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life;
but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman,
and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring,
who keep the commandments of God
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

REVELATION 12:17

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

It is only because of the Jews, the elect (Israel) God’s chosen, that those days are shorten and because of them there will be people who believe in Jesus that are saved coming through the tribulation. There are still those who go through the tribulation whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined,
but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked
shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

DANIEL 12:10

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake,
but concerning the election they are beloved
for the sake of the fathers.

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

This warning is for Israel. Only the Jews that know God’s word from the prophet Daniel’s warnings and other prophets will not be fooled by this false deception. For many Jews have left God’s traditions and law for the pleasures of this world.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working
of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and
with all unrighteous deception among those who perish,
because they did not receive the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.

2 THESSALONIANS 2:9-10

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

God word tells us how Jesus will return to earth. Those who receive Jesus during the tribulation will recognize that Jesus will soon return and He is coming to avenge His people and to make war with the anti-christ and all that followed him.

14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs,
which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world,
to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches,
and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his
shame.” 16 And they gathered them together to the
place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

REVELATION 16:14-16

[ Christ on a White Horse ] Now I saw heaven opened, and behold,
a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,
followed Him on white horses.

REVELATION 19:14

The Beast and His Armies Defeated

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with
a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of
heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great
God18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains,
the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit
on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small
and great.” 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth,
and their armies, gathered together to make war against
Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet
who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those
who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his
imageThese two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with
brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which
proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse.
And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

REVELATION 19:17-21

The Coming of the Son of Man
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Here Jesus tells of His return, and He’s coming for judgment and to make war. The people on the earth will mourn. The church is not here, for we joyfully waited for Jesus to appear. But those left behind will mourn, for Jesus will judge and cast away all those who are not His. His angels will gather from the four corners of the earth those who were left behind after the rapture. Then Jesus will separate His sheep from the goats, and He will gather the remnant sheep to Himself.

49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth,
separate the wicked from among the just,

MATTHEW 13:49

32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will
separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep
from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but
the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those
on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

MATTHEW 25:32-34

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him
even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth
will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

REVELATION 1:7

The church is not here, we were raptured, for the church did not mourn, but looked for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. The church loved His appearing.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day,
and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

2 TIMOTHY 4:8

13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing
of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

TITUS 2:13

THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE

The rapture of the church, His bride, ( the saints) Jesus Himself catches His saints up to the clouds Himself. At the end of the tribulation, Jesus will send His angels to gather His elect (Israel) and those who believed in His name.

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the
trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the
Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17

These are two separate events taking place in the last days, one with the church, and one with Israel and new believers. One in the beginning, and one at the end. God gives every opportunity to return to Him.

THE END TIME GATHERING

In the parable of the Tares and the Dragnet, Jesus tells of the end of the age, and that His angels are the reapers who separates the just from the unjust.

Parable of the tares
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest
is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore
as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the
end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels,
and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend,
and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into
the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing
of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun
in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear,
let him hear!

MATTHEW 13:39-43

Parable of the dragnet
49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth,
separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into
the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

MATTHEW 13:49-50

31 And He will send His angels with a great sound
of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect
from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

REVELATION 24:31

The prophet Daniel spoke of a holy people in the last days that comes through the tribulation.  The only ones in the bible called a holy people to the Lord is Israel, not the church. The church is referred to as the saints or the bride of Christ.

7  Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the
waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand
to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be
for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power
of the holy people has been completely shattered,
all these things shall be finished.

12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the
one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest,
and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

DANIEL 12:12-13

God refers to Israel as His holy people, or His elect. Christians are referred to as the saints.

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God;

For Jacob My servant’s sake, And Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name;
I have named you, though you have not known Me.

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are
sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all
who in every place call on the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

There are two different events. The first one, Jesus coming for His saints His bride before the tribulation. The second event, God dealing with His people Israel through the tribulation. The Jews that believed in Jesus have already become His saints. The ones that have not believed yet, God is still dealing with their hearts and will give them every opportunity in the tribulation to repent and come to Jesus their true Messiah.

22 And when He had removed him, He raised up for them
David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said,
I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart,
who will do all My will.’23 From this man’s seed,
according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—
24 after John had first preached, before His coming,
the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

ACTS 13:22-24
